Watermark options

Batch Watermark PDF follows the same utility-doc standard as Batch Watermark Image, adapted for PDF structure and page geometry.

Watermark types

• Text: draft labels, client names, proof marks, dates, or internal review wording.
• Image: PNG or JPEG logos, stamps, or approval graphics.
• Combined: an image plus supporting text applied as one reusable mark.

SVG image watermarks are deferred for a later release.

Placement and page geometry

Use fixed placements for predictable marks such as top-right, center, or footer positions. Rotation, opacity, and scale apply after placement. An adjustable edge margin controls how close a non-centered placement sits to the page edge, down to flush with it at zero. Text watermarks also support an adjustable color.

Page ranges let you watermark every page, selected pages, or ranges such as 1-3, 8, 10-12. Always preview mixed page sizes and rotated pages before running a large batch.

Tiling

Tiling repeats the watermark across a page. It is useful for proof copies and draft circulation. Keep opacity low enough that the document remains readable.

Above or below content

Above-content marks sit over existing page content and are easiest to see. Below-content marks sit behind compatible content and can be useful for subtle stationery or background marks.

Structure preservation

The normal workflow preserves text, links, forms, annotations, page boxes, and existing resources where the source file allows it. The app skips signed and encrypted PDFs because watermarking them would either invalidate signatures or require an explicit unlock workflow.

Watermarks discourage accidental reuse and communicate document state; they do not provide cryptographic protection or digital-rights enforcement.
