Profiles

Human profiles

A human profile is a local player identity. It is used in match records and the leaderboard, so you do not need to enter your name after every game. You can create, rename, or switch profiles from the top bar.

AI profiles

An AI profile is a reusable connection preset, not a player account. It contains:

• a profile name you recognise during setup and review;
• provider, base URL, and model;
• optional style and temperature settings;
• a connection timeout; and
• a secure reference to the API key used by that profile.

Choose a descriptive name such as “DeepSeek V4 Flash” instead of relying only on a model ID. The full model is recorded in the finished-game details.

An AI profile’s API key is never put into PGN, FEN, the archive, result cards, or copied images.
