Troubleshooting

A file was skipped

Signed, already-encrypted, malformed, and unsupported PDFs are skipped. The original file remains unchanged.

The open password does not open the file

Check whether the file was created with an empty open password, a separate owner password, or a copied password that includes an extra space. Open and owner passwords are different.

The owner password was lost

The app does not store owner passwords after the active workflow. If you generate one, save it in your own password manager or delivery record before closing the workflow.

Permissions do not block every action

PDF permissions depend on the viewer. They communicate intended handling, but they are not DRM and cannot prevent every determined recipient from copying visible content.

Metadata is still visible

Enable metadata encryption before running the batch. Also check whether the visible information is page content rather than PDF metadata.

Output name already exists

The app uses collision-safe names by default. If an output filename already exists, a numbered copy is created instead of overwriting the input or an existing result.
